Alexis will probably skate with the inline world team for some races. Ice has priority though.

Alexis Contin and CadoMotus join forces

(Jun 25, 2010)
Alexis Contin and CadoMotus have started a cooperation. "This is my chance to get the best equipment available."

The collaboration between Alexis Contin and CadoMotus concerns both ice and inline. Contin is confident to test the Marchese Record longtrack blades. "In a technical sport like ice skating, equipment is very important. You need a brand that supports you."

The 23-year old French multi talent is convinced of MPC wheels and CadoMotus chassis quality. "Bart Swings is proving over and over again! I feel very confident on these products." During summer he will choose his own racing program, and join the World team on some occasions. In winter he is part of the professional Hofmeier team and CadoMotus, Marchese and Contin will exchange thoughts on product development.

It is the same kind of partnership CadoMotus has with Shane Dobbin, who combines ice and inline also. As a member of the World team, but in full preparation of the Olympic Games, he still succeeded in winning important races in 2009. Now he prepares his ice season in Australia.

The last years Alexis Contin's career changed a lot. From a 17-year old inline World champion to a 23-year old Olympic skater, placing fourth on the 10,000 meters in Vancouver. CadoMotus fits well into this change of career, supporting him in his eager to get 100% out of all training efforts.

"I was fortunate enought to win big races at a very young age", says Contin. "My switch from junior to senior was a success. After that I felt like I needed something else. That's why I switched to ice in 2005/2006. Doing two seasons in one year was not the right solution though, I had a hard time on the ice. I decided to focus once more on the inline World championships in 2008. I proved I still could win! From that moment my focus was on ice and the Olympic Games."

"I still enjoy inline, but I need to be free and choose my own program. That's one reason I like to work with CadoMotus. When I can plan my own season, I will be most succesfull. Also it is very important to have the best gear available. On some tracks not having the right wheel can be the difference between winning or not even being in the top 5!"

"I have skated on a lot of brands in my career. No I enjoy to be on the best gear available and that is simply the reason I choose to work with CadoMotus. I feel comfortable on MPC wheels and CadoMotus frames."

"Ice skating is a very technical sport and having companies with other idea's is very important. Products should be designed for pure performance. All we care about is to win and get the benefit from all those training hours. I am very confident the Marchese Record blades can bring me closer to the podium. I'm testing them right now on the summer ice in Heerenveen. The glide of the blades is amazing."

"I will do some inline racing this season, but the schedule is not fixed yet. My goal is clearly to make the next step in my ice career and start to be on the international podiums more often.I have four more years to realize my goal, so I better hurry up!"
