AIC Hong Kong 2009

Begg AIC Double in Hong Kong.

by Bill Begg (Oct. 1, 2009)
Hi All,

The last Asianic Inline cup of the year was held Chai Wan District Hong Kong Island this morning, on a rough demanding & very Technical 1.5 km track, as some commented, just as well it was only 10 nlaps & 15 km. But to get anywhere closed off in Down Town Hong Kong anywhere on the National Day Holiday was a big mission. But a big effort from Joe & Doon Yuen & Checker Sport to arrange & conduct the event, a tired Doon from many sleepless nights, gradually worked his way up to 6th in the race.

Wayne Begg Checker Sport Bont New Zealand won the mens & Nicole Begg Checker Sport Bont New Zealand the ladies race.

In a suprise Move Wayne Begg not having skated for five weeks & first time on new boots, picked up the early pace & only 5 were left in the Leading group, Kim Bum Sik (Tiger ) from Micro Korea, Daniel Chee Wee Team Revo Singapore, Udagawa Kazuya Kazamaki Shankel team Japan & Nicole Begg New Zealand.

Apart from a brief lull, when 3 or 4 South African Skaters caught up, Nicole Begg took over most the attacks & breakaways keeping a hard pace on the rough 1.5 km course, with most the field being lapped, it created some confusion at the finish, as if after the first several skaters, the others were 1 lap or 2 laps behind. So the 3rd position is the only one not verified at present & video replay has been called to varify.

LADIES RESULTS.
  1. Nicole Begg Bont Checker Sport - New Zealand.
  2. Kim Aimes Bont - U.S.A.
  3. Mok Chi Ling Bont Checker Sport - Hong Kong.
  4. Suen Yee Ting Bont Checker Sport - Hong Kong.
  5. Tumelo Moteme - National Team South Africa.
MENS RESULTS
  1. Wayne Begg Bont Checker Sport - New Zealand
  2. Kim Bum Sik ( Tiger) Micro Ex-Tech - Korea.
  3. Tshepo Modikwe - National Team South Africa ( Yet to be confirmed )
  4. Daniel Chee Wee Team Revo - Singapore ( Could be Third )
  5. Udagawa Kazuya - team Kazamaki Schankel - Japan.
