2nd Asian Indoor Games

１０月２８日から１１月３日にかけてマカオで第２回 Asian Indoor Games が開催されます。この大会の競技種目 "Ｘ－Ｓｐｏｒｔｓ" にインラインもリストアップされています。ただ、この大会組織は Olympic Council of Asia に加盟している各国の Olympic Committee よるモノなので日本の窓口はＪＯＣに成ります。スケートボードはＩＯＣとの関係が深まっているようですが、インラインは蚊帳の外なのかＪＯＣからは全く話が漏れて来ませんネ。誰か１回目の大会に出場したのでしょうか？。もしも参加実績がないと将来オリンピック出場資格を得る事が出来ない恐れがあります。

The 2nd Asian Indoor Games will be held in Macau, China from October 26, 2007 to November 3, 2007. There are many sports, Aerobics, Billiards, Bowling, Chess, DanceSport, Dragon & Lion Dance, Electronic Sports (E-Sports), Extreme Sports (X-Sports) , Futsal, Hoop Sepaktakraw, Indoor Athletics, Indoor Cycling, Indoor Hockey, Muay, Swimming, etc.. Most events will take place at the Macao East Asian Games Dome.

Extreme Sports (X-Sports)

This year’s Asian Indoor Games (AIG) will be held in Macau from 26 Oct - 3 Nov 2007. And as most of you are aware, in addition to traditional indoor game activities such as gymnastics, snooker, futsal etc., inline stunt and other wheeled action sports such as BMX and Skateboarding are included.

Whats the big deal?
Well, the AIG is organised by the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) with more than 2,000 participants from over 45 nations. More importantly, this is the closest rolling has ever come to a ‘proper’ Olympic-type event. In other words, if it does well in the AIG - it might just go mainstream and be featured in the Summer Olympic games. Whether or not this is good or bad for rolling is of course debatable (SEE: the ups and downs of rolling in ESPN’s X-Games).

2nd Asia Indoor Games

10月26日から11月３日までの間、マカオ（中国）で「2nd Asia Indoor Games」が開催されます。

この大会は「アジア・オリンピック評議会」（OCA）が主催するもので、競技には、フットサル、スイミング、インドアホッケー、ダンス、ボーリング…などの他「インラインVERT」（ハーフパイプ）も行われます。この大会は「アマチュア規定」がありプロの出場はできません。その意を受け「荻野寛太」「相原裕介」（いずれも「グッドスケート」所属）が日本代表として出場することになりました。

荻野寛太（12歳）は米国で開催された2006年ASA Amateur World Champion、相原裕介（13歳）は同５位（tie）という実力の持ち主です。大いに「金・銀メダル」が期待できます。皆様の応援をよろしくお願いいたします。なお、インラインVERTの決勝は11月３日に行われる予定です。

この度、こうしてオリンピック委員会（評議会）が主催する大会に出場できることは日本のアグレッシブインライン界にとって大きな前進だと思います。

Iran inline skater in Asian final

Iran inline skate team has advanced to finals in the Asian Inline Stunt in Extreme Sports category of Macau 2007 Asian Indoor Games.

Ali Bandari, one of two Iranian inline skaters managed to beat rivals to reach the final of the competitions which began October 26.

Twelve athletes from seven countries including China, Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong, Iran, Kuwait, Malaysia and Thailand are taking part in the contests. The final will be held on Saturday at Luso-Chinese School Pavilion.

Opened on October 26, Macau Asian Indoor Games will run through November 3. Some 45 countries are competing in the event.
