夏休み、ニューヨーク観光の時期だからでしょうか、New York City Department of Parks & Recreation から Central Park Skate Patrol の活動ビデオが YouTube に投稿されました。今年も８月に Big Apple Roll, ９月に New York 100k Skate Marathon とニューヨークのスケートイベントが続きます。

New York Central Park

Parks & Recreation is the steward of nearly 20 percent of New York City's land, including thousands of individual properties ranging from Coney Island Beach and Central Park to community gardens and Greenstreets. We operate athletic fields, playgrounds, tennis courts, public pools, recreational facilities, nature centers, golf courses, and beaches throughout the five boroughs. We also care for monuments and historic house museums and look after hundreds of thousands of street trees (even more within parks).

We are New York City's principal providers of recreational and athletic facilities and programs. We are home to free concerts, world-class sports events, and cultural festivals.

Summer Streets starts this Saturday, August 8th!

NYC DOT and our partners are proud to present Summer Streets. We will temporarily close Park Avenue and connecting streets from the Brooklyn Bridge to Central Park to motor vehicles and open it up to people on three consecutive Saturdays in August (August 8, 15, & 22).

Big Apple Roll of Friday, August 14th - Sunday, August 16th, 2009

The seventh annual Big Apple Roll Weekend (BAR) is an exciting weekend of group skates, adventures exploring and experiencing New York City on skates. Party with old friends, make new ones, feel the rush of skating the New York City streets. Enjoy the city’s beautiful scenery, smooth pavement, rolling hills and fast straight-aways. Central Park is also the capital of dance skating where you can join the worlds greatest skate dancers for a truly unique experience.

A weekend to explore NY, party with friends, and feel the rush of NYC street skating.

City skating, island hopping, beaches, parks, night life and of course our skates through Times Square.

The BAR 2009 is a FREE event! There will be no registration fee. However, anyone participating in the event must sign the Liability Waiver or you may not skate with us.
