とりあえず、HICとPatinCarrera.comを参考に更新しています。間違っていたら、ごめんなさいデス。 The Holland Inline Cup (HIC) exists only of four races. We had no possibilities to extend the program, due to lack of time. However, in the future we would like to extend the program of the Holland Inline Cup competition. The four races in the HIC start with a mass start. This is common in races abroad and in the World Cup. The top skaters start first row. In the longer term we like to start based on personal bests. This is already the case in Germany. All participants are obliged to skate with transponders and all times will be officially ranked. Two races of the HIC will be World Inline Cup races. It means a tremendous upgrading of the Dutch skating sport, due to all of the famous skaters who will skate this races. And there will be a lot of media interest. We hope and expect every skater in Holland will start in the two World Inline Cup races and that counts as the best promotion for the sport.
Wolvega - Host city of the first official World Inline Cup in NetherlandsThe weather was great! All the WIC Teams at the start. Additionally 18 Dutch Teams with some very good ice skaters. The course - one 45k lap - of course flat.During the race there were about two or three breakaways. A group of three skated about 10k before the finish away. Only a cool skating Colombian, Antonio Ruales Ceron (Bont IDRD Bogota Positiva), closed the gap almost alone and won at the end the final sprint. WIC Wolvegaby Bill Begg (May 19, 2008) A Dream result for BONT, On a course that tested gear to the limit, the new slightly stiffer Flex adjustable hub BONT wheel came through.Antonio Ruales became the first to ever finish a marathon race on them & whats more, it was first place. in the prestigioius first ever Wolvega WIC marathon. The Organizors presented the winners with lovelly phillips & Samsung flat screen TV's. After being leaders in the Boot market for many years, Bont successfully gabbed a good market share with their innovative 3 point skates, now they are seriously competing for a share of the wheel market.
Results speak louder than Words & today was a very big day, catapulting them up the wheel ladder. It was a good test day for equipment, one WIC leading contendors race canme to an abrupt end, when his front wheel collapsed under the harsh conditions, a cruel blow indeed, when you are one of the Worlds top skaters. In the ladies Alexandra, Tamara & Nicole were all prominent in the breakaways throughout the race, with Alexandra being on the one that couted about 12 km out from the finish. She found herself with Nadine Gloor,Elma De Vries & later joined by Lina Holguin all of whom worked to keep the break alive, to finish about 36 sec ahead of the main group. A few skaters crashed out of contention, Roger Schneider, Max Presti, Nicolas Iten, Wayne Begg, DJ Nation, Peter Micheal, Severin Widmar,Alex Singinberger, just amongst the ones I am aware of. But there were a lot of pluses.
First WIC podium in Wolvegaby Reyon Kay (May 20, 2008) The WIC race in Holland was held on a very physical and difficult course. The race was one lap covering 46km starting and finishing in host town Wolvega. There were very tough sections of cobble stones, one that lasted over 2km! Combined with windy conditions it would prove to be a difficult day. The race started like every other WIC race, full on! Lots of attacks and Zepto worked very well together to have at least one Zepto skater in each attack and potential break away. After 15km there was the long section of cobble stones and soon after was the windy section alone the dyk. The combination of the two areas proved to be difficult for most skaters. 17km from the finish a break away of two skaters went off the front Pascal Briand (Powerslide Phuzion) and Rob Hadders (Habovo) to maintain a reasonable gap. Looking threatening Nico helped Reyon to a good position so he could go across to the break away alone. This break away of three, including Reyon from Zepto worked well together to maintain the established gap on the peloton. As the finish was near the pack came close to catching the break away of three. 5km from the finish two other skaters Antonio Ruales (BONT IDRD) and Ingmar Berga (DSB) made it over to join the break away that would stay away until the end. As the sprint unfolded the Colombian Ruales was fast in the final 300m. Passing Reyon to win the race and bringing Ingmar through for 2nd. Reyon crossing the line in 3rd The Zepto team worked very well together to achieve the first WIC podium for 2008. Scott and Nico did a lot of work during the race and Jan had some bad luck with a technical difficulty. Next weekend is another very hard race in Rennes, France. Hopefully the recent form from Zepto Skate Team will continue!
