 今年は雨の Tokyo Marathon だったけど、大成功！来年は２月１７日です。すでにスポーツ店で Tokyo Marathon のパンフレット配布が開始され、さらに１７日からは参加申し込みの受付が始まります。当然、今年も応募は定員オーバーでしょうから先着順でなく抽選になるでしょうが、オフィシャルネットで確認してみてください。
Tokyo Marathon 2008 will be held on Sunday, February 17, 2008. Guideline for applicants have been released, the registration will start on June 17 at the Tokyo Marathon official site.
It's for Runners and Persons on Wheelchair.
The Tokyo Marathon, Tokyo's first large scale city marathon, was held for the first time on February 18, 2007. It is not to be confused with the Tokyo International Women's Marathon held in autumn.
The race started shortly after 9am at the Metropolitan Government building in Shinjuku and ended at the Tokyo Big Sight in Odaiba. The attractively designed route passed several of Tokyo's main tourist spots, including the Imperial Palace, Tokyo Tower, Asakusa and Ginza:
The Tokyo Marathon 2007 featured a marathon race with approximately 25,000 participants and a 10 kilometer race with approximately 5000 participants of both genders, including wheelchair users, and visually and mentally impaired athletes. The application deadline passed in mid August 2006.
The marathon race was accompanied by various festivities and events, including the Tokyo Marathon Expo in Tokyo Dome.
