Spain Go in The Other Side That The WIC
The spanish speed skating is totally out of the World and European ciurcuit of marathons. They also don´t want nationals marathons in the national calendar. The mens of the federation don´t want made marathons competitions in Spain, they also to penalize skaters that race for worldteams for others countries for race the marathons. The last penalty was don´t permit to participate in the nationals in Spain at Sandra Gomez, Ronan Sanchez and Kepa Caballero because they are racing the WIC and they don´t race in may the local races in Spain. Is also true that they trhee can´t participate in the trials 23 and 24 june, because they are out of the list that the national federation and the national coach make.
Is allmost sure that all continue like this for all season because the national coach D.Carlos Lugea said “who do a bet for the marathons is excluded for himself of the national team”
The president of the Spanish Federation is D.Carmelo Paniagua, he is also vice-president of CIC ( International Speed Comite ), all that said that he is anti-WIC and he don´t want spanish skaters racing the marathons. With this is impossible a future in this sport.
