June 10th 2007: Dijon World Inline Cup
WIC Class 1 in Dijon : unexpected Matthieu Boher

In winning at the Allees du Parc in Dijon, Matthieu Boher (RPM Poli) has proved wrong all forecasts. He is a skater with a reputation of power. At ease when the road climbs up, he is a true climber in fact. But Dijon Marathon is theorically a circuit for sprinters. For Boher, the challenge was double: staying ahead among the sprinters, and taking advantage of the tactics of the international teams... And he succeded perfectly.
On the women's side, Nicole Begg (Jesa Bont Ssanyongg) reached the gold by pulling herself out of the pack many times and showed her talent skating alone two laps to the finish line!

May 13th 2007: RENNES World Inline Cup
WIC & FIC in Rennes : Storms challenge skaters...

The Swiss Roger Schneider (Athleticum Rollerblade) wins the third race for Switzerland this year in the World Inline Cup 2007. After Nicolas Iten in Seoul and the Athleticum Rollerblade Team in Basel. With 9 km to go, the New Zealander Shane Dobbin (Sportvital Rollerblade) and Roger Schneider (Athleticum Rollerblade) managed to escape from a breakaway group. At the end Roger Schneider wins very short before Shane Dobbin, third got the Italian Massimiliano Presti (Bont Hyper).

VIDEO 3'40 45MBThe Zepto's German sprinter Jana Gegner won the women race. Nicole Begg took the lead at the head of the sprint, but Gegner caught her in the final meters. Gegner's time for the 43.2 kilometer race was 1 hour, 21 minutes and 31 seconds.

Both winners used rain wheels. "The people with rain wheels were the ones who were able to survive," said race director Christophe Audoire. Watch the first women video interview. Much more to come in the next days...

May 5th 2007: BASEL World Inline Cup
Basel. Big surprise at the 2nd curtain raiser event of the Swiss Inline Cup: the men's team Athleticum Rollerblade won the team time trial in Basel.
VIDEO 8'48 110MBSportvital Rollerblade won the women's race in front of Athleticum Rollerblade.
Also at the women's race Athleticum surprised. Although Nadine Gloor from Basel, Franziska Stampfli from Thun and India Kuhn from Winterberg started the race without the fourth athlete, they took the second place behind Sportvital Rollerblade. And team leader Nadine Gloor even spent two days and two nights in hospital last week. But the stomach trouble disappeared on time and the local matador could celebrate on the Wettstein-Brücke in Basel. Our videos...

April 8th 2007: SEOUL World Inline Cup
This was the first race of the 2007 WIC season.
Men's race: This day marked the first World Cup victory for Switzerland's Nicolas Iten, who won the men's race.
Women's Race: The women's race proved to be a waiting game with the top skaters saving their legs for what they expected to be a furious sprint. Hyper USA's Jessica Smith, who won the event last year, said the pace was slow. At end a time-lapse photo showed Brittany Bowe winning by a little more than a skate.
This year's Seoul World Inline Cup, the fifth annual, drew 6200 skaters, down a little from last year. Aside from the 40K marathon, the event included a half marathon, 6K fitness race and 2K kid's race. Our videos...
