    Timmerman-Powerslide training in Spain
By Karlo and Tjeuke. Last saturday, team Timmerman-Powerslide arrived in Gijon for the final preparation for 2007. The team choose for Gijon because it is the hometown of Ronan Sanchez and the city of Worlds 2008. Also the weather is nice. Gijon is a big town with 300.000 inhabitants in the North of Spain, near the sea. All the guys are really motivated for the next season.

    Interview with Shinki Yamamoto

How was you’re preparation during the winter period?
This winter it was my first ice skating season. It was really nice and it made me stronger to compete in the big marathons. In my hometown Matsudo there is no ice track and in Japan it is not really cold and some times I did inline skating and some times ice-skating.

You live in Holland now for half a year; do you like it until now?
Yeah I think it is good. I am very happy to be in the team and race the world inline cup. I am the first Japanese guy who races in a world inline cup team and to join a team was really hard for me. I like it a lot to live in Holland.

What is the difference between Japan and Holland.
Especially the food is different but I like the Dutch food. Some Asian people have problems with the western food but I like the potatoes and the pastas.

what do you think about your teammates?
We have a very good team and by training together and in Japan we had no coach and now have and also the level of skating in Japan is not high and this will improve my quality.

You race on 110 mm, do you like it?
I think it will be better than 100 mm. I tested them for a long time and I like them on track and I also think they are good for the marathon.

What do you think of the chance that this year 110mm will be legalized for Worlds and European champs
I think within three years the F.I.R.S will legalize the 110 for the worlds. I will be very happy.

Which frame of Powerslide will you race this season?
I will race all the races with the Triple X 110 mm frame.

What wheels of will you use for the World inline cup?
Matter Yellow and blue. I need hard wheels because I have not much power.

At the moment you are in a training camp in Gijon, Spain. How do you like this and is this the first time on camp or have you done this before? Is it necessary to go on trainings camp or not?
Three years ago I went to Germany for a trainings camp. I think it is important to learn the other skaters very well and also to prepare for a good season.

Thanks for the interview guys!!! (Mar. 20, 207)

Timmerman Powerslide makes a good start of the season
    March, 24 in Gijon

By Mark and Shinki. Sunday morning, the First race for the Timmerman-Powerslide at the home roadcircuit of Ronan Sanchez. This road will also be used for Worlds 2008.
With really nice weather the race started at ten o’clock with 1500m heats. In the first heat it was Shinki Yamamoto who won easily with Gary Hekman in his back. The second heat was for Ronan Sanchez and also the team members Mark Horsten and Karlo Timmerman went easily into the final, cause the second heat was way faster than the first. In the final it was Timmerman-Powerslide taking the lead and finished 1,2 and 3, Ronan, Karlo, Mark with a perfect lead out of Gary and Shinki.

The second and last distance the 10km points was also a victory for Ronan Sanchez. In the middle of the race he was in a break away with Ted Ooijevaar and teammates Karlo and Shinki. With 4 laps to go Shinki crashed. Mark and Gary won the sprint of the pack and became fourth and fifth.

This was a good training for racing with the team and practice some new things. Now we have only 5 days to go in Spain to train. Then we go back to Holland for the first marathon in Holland and a part of the team will travel to Korea for the World inline cup race in Seoul.
