Men
In the mens race, with only one fast finishing lane, a bunch finish, was always going to see, the leading skaters, have an advantage over others. apparently the Salomon Machine, came off an Athleticum lead out, with the next 3 Powerslide then 4 ones from different teams.
Finally at last Saggioratto came to life in a big way, with his seasons first win, as Saloman took out the first 4 places & Max Presti 2nd, with Botero failing to make it back from the Colombian trials in time, Max has nearly a 200 pt lead on him overall & now Botero has slipped down the list 4 or 5 places, this has virtually, put paid to any chance of finishing his last WIC on a high note.

Woman
Many WIC ladies skaters were very angry, with the outcome of the race, with a maximum of 4 WIC skaters per team & others racing by themselves, they were blocked by the whole Korean contingent, in the race, after 3 escaped, grabbing & attempting to block off the chasing skaters, left some angry Skaters.
Also with a number of WIC skaters refusing to do any work, saw 3 Korean skaters take out the major share of the prize money, with 2 Korean skaters who stayed away & went on to win the event, which apart from anything else, is a great boost for the Korean Skaters. (The true story of the race)

| MMCmicro victorious at Incheon! | A wonderful victory for MMCmicro Salomon World Team! | Men
Luca Saggiorato had the opportunity to prove its supremacy in the final sprint in front of the best international skaters! In his wheels, Massimiliano Presti takes the second place, Francesco Zangarini the third one and Pier Davide Romani the fourth. Luca Presti let his 4 team mates prepare their victorious sprint getting the right position into the pack 900m before the finish. The men race started around 9.15 am in front of Incheon Airport.
The racing strategy of the MMCmicro Salomon World Team had to be adapted to the last skating news….Jorge Botero and Juan Nayib Tobon, ones of best skaters from Rollerblade team had troubles with their flight from Colombia and could not attempt to the race...
Then Diego Rosero from Rollerblade didn’t loose his motivation and made lot of attacks…So many that it was hard for the other teams to control these break-aways attempts even if the circuit was not so favourable for such a racing strategy.
We noticed in that race that it was the same skaters as it use to be in charge of attacking, such as Alain Gloor, Thomas Boucher, Diego Rosero and Pier, Francesco, Luca P, Luca S and Massi were relaying to chase these break-aways attempts and create new ones.
Despite of the fast rhythm during these 42km, MMCmicro Salomon Athletes reached to act as they planed. They prepared their sprint around 1km before the finish and after the last corner, they launched it with 4 mates, preventing any other skaters from by passing them!
They took an unbelievable victory, supported by thousands of skaters and spectators, conquering the 4 first places! As in April where Massi won, they spent 2 hours to speak with other skaters, signing posters, giving MMCmicro gifts and realizing their beautiful racing performance.
Women
Concerning the Women race, the surprise was created in the last meters. Even if European teams were leader to take the victory such as Rollerblade, Luigino, Smartskate Salomon girls, they didn’t plan the Korean skaters are also a real danger thanks to their skating strengths. And after having controlled most of the 42km, these teams were by passed by an impressive Korean pack. The final sprint was conquered by Hemi Kim from Korea, followed by her best friend Hyosook Doo and then the famous and powerful Jessica Smith to complete the women podium.

Team Rollerblade in Incheon WIC Results & updates from Incheon, Korea WIC MORE RESULTS | | by Tanya Dobbin, Jun. 4, 2006 | Men
In the men's race the it came down to a pack sprint finish. For Rollerblade World Men, they only skated with three athletes Diego Rosero, Baptiste Grandgirard & Shane Dobbin. Unfortunetly Jorge Botero & Juan Nayib Tobon's flights from Colombia were cancelled and were not able to join their team mates to race in Korea. Diego Rosero was on many breakaways but it seemed that the Korean skaters were chasing down almost everything that went away. In the sprint Shane Dobbin did the lead out for Diego Rosero but unfortunetly just being two in a sprint finish it's difficult to compete against a team of five. Diego was leading with 200 metres to go but Salomon had other ideas and passed within the last 150 metres to take the Victory of the race and the top four places in the ranking. Powerslide was sitting just behind them in the sprint finish and ended up staying exactly as they were across the finish line taking 5th, 6th & 7th and Diego Rosero finished in 8th.

Women
In the ladies race the Victory went to a Korean Skater who was on another breakaway with a fellow Korean Skater. The peleton was left to fight it out for the third position which went to Jessica Smith (Hyper). The Rollerblade girls ended up finishing around the top 5.

| Korea/Incheon marathon | 2nd stage in korea was except as a big one and it was. About 10 000 skater plan for the 42km or 21km race. Korea still impress with a big village near the finish line.
Sunday morning 9h05 all skater are ready to go for this famous race with 50 000 000 won price money (about 40 000euros)...nice weather, not much wind for a easy flat marathon course made of 2 laps of 18km (go and back road) and a small extra part to go to the
finish line. last 500m are made of a right corner and a long straight line with 2 different asphalt part.
GO... fast start from the korea who directly attack and create a breakaway of 10 skaters representing all team ... but the pack react and try to come back in the 2 first km. Race is going fast , team powerslide, athleticum, rollerblade keep attacking but salomon and othe rkorean skater from anyang do the work and bring the pack back. few times some good breakaway are made taking about 30 sec to go but pack always come back .
It s gonna be a sprint finsh, last few km are made of high speed in front and keep position work in the top 20 places of the pack , at this exercice salomon and powerslide seems to do go. Last corner salomon just speed up , taking the left side of asphalt till the end, kalon bring all powerslide team to the near fornt position to just behind the yellow guys... So finally 2 teams got top 7 places powerslide got 5th with pascal, 6th with fabio, 7th with thomas.
Ranking result are still not official from WIC ...
