Event Information

Event Date and Time: Saturday, Aug. 26, 2006. Start: 8:30 a.m. for all events. Check-in: 6:30-8:00 a.m. Rain or shine.

Location: Prospect Park, Brooklyn, NY. East Drive & Lincoln Road (off Ocean Ave). East side of park near Wollman Rink parking lot.

Distances and Categories:
* New York 100K: Rec-Fitness, Speed, Pro/Elite Master/Veteran
* NYC Skate Marathon (42K): Rec-Fitness, Speed, Pro/Elite Open/Master/Veteran
* Half-Marathon (21K): Rec-Fitness, Speed
* Youth 5K: Recreational, Speed (for skaters age 9 and younger, only)

Adult rec/fitness categories are for "regular" Rollerblade-type and fitness skates, hockey skates, or dance/quad skates. Speed/racing skates are not permitted in recreational category. In youth recreational category, all skate types are allowed. Speed and Pro/Elite categories are intended for all speed/racing skates but any skates are permitted.

Entry Fees: See registration form for fee schedule. We are offering big discounts for early registration; entry fees will go way up on August 15. On-line registration is available at Active.com.

Age Divisions: 9 and under; 10-12; 13-16; 17-24; 25-29; 30-34; 35-39; 40-44; 45-49; 50-54; 55-59; 60-plus. In Pro/Elite category only: Open, under 35; Masters, 35-44; Veterans, 45-plus.

Prizes: Merchandise prizes raffled amongst all participants and awarded to top overall finishers.

Safety: Helmets and wrist guards are required. No headphones, no cellphones and no ski-type poles are permitted in any category. Sorry.

Aid: Water carrier is essential. Aid station will re-supply water.

Course Description: The Prospect Park loop is smooth, wide, moderately hilly with one long climb and several smaller climbs. The loop is approximately 5.3K in circumference and has been entirely repaved within last few years.

5K is 1 lap; 21K Half-Marathon is 4 laps; 42K Skate Marathon is 8 laps; 100K is 19 laps. Tear-off tabs for each lap are provided to keep personal lap count. Park drive is closed to traffic during event but is open for recreation use (cyclists, pedestrians, etc.); some caution and courtesy is required.

Please Support this event, so it doesn't die as many skate events have so far!

Registration will be up very soon, with really great savings if you pre-register, we will also have a Marathon a half marathon a 10k and a 5k for kids, so not wanting to skate a 100 kilometers won't be an exceuse this year!

ツール・ド・フランスでアルプス越えセクッションの勝者にのみに与えられる「King of the Mountain」のジャージに習い、ニューヨーク 100K インラインマラソンでは１９周のヒルクライムで最高ポイントを獲得した「King of the Hill」の勝者に特別デザインのジャージが与えられます。 The King of the Hill Jersey of The NY 100K K2 design for jersey that will be awarded the winners of the King of the Mountain Challenge.

King of the Hill Perhaps the most exciting of these is the new King of the Hill Challenge, which was inspired by the King of the Mountains competition of the Tour de France. The challenge will award points to the first five men and women to reach the top of the long hill on the road course: five points for first; four for second, etc. Points will be recorded on each of 100K's 19 laps. The man and woman who finishes with the most points will be crowned King (and presumably, Queen) of the Hill. The winners will take home trophies and wear special King of the Hill jerseys, which have been designed by K2, the event sponsor. "Thanks to the King of the Hill, we are going to have some really exciting racing," said Francisco Ramirez, one of the event's organizers.
